Millet grains are round small whole grains enriched with high proteins, nutrients, fiber, minerals which provide high level of energy and stability to mind and body. Millets had been used for thousands of years back and they had been most popular among consumers. With the change of time, other crops like wheat, rice became interesting and famous which made millet grains less popular. Their farming production decreased because other crops were given more preference in the name of consumption and farming business.
Millet grains are grown in Asian and African countries. They are consumed by humans and are used for livestock, bird feed. Most advantageous part of millets is that they are cultivated in less fertile land. India had been a country of high cultivation of millets but as time spent, they were replaced by other crops which became more popular than millets. But for some decades, millet grains have been in consumption for humans, cattle and bird feeding. They have become a good business opportunity like other necessary crops and farmers are taking more interest in growing millet. Government is promoting millet grains and their consumption benefits for good health and good life. Their importance has been increasing for some time and people specially youngsters are focusing their mood on millet grains and dishes made with them.
A new style of introduction of millet to people and awareness among them is attracting maximum number of consumers who are taking high interest in millet grains. At present, new generation is more health conscious because life has become much hectic and unhealthy making human health in anxiety. Environment, fresh air, clean water, healthy food everything is unhealthy and impure. In this busy life and unhealthy environmental conditions, food is the option which can maintain healthy and glorious human life.
There are several types of millet grains which can be understood and taken advantages with their use of consumption:- Broomcorn, barnyard, pearl, kodo, little millet, amaranth millet (rajgira/ramdana), buckwheat millet (kuttu), sorghum millet (jowar), foxtail millet (kakum), finger millet (ragi) are examples of millet grains. All these millet grains are highly nutritional which boost body energy and provide minerals, nutritions in appropriate preposition. They are excellent in fiber, carbs, several vitamins, calcium. All these ingredients are higher in millets in comparison to other grains. These grains are now in cultivation in abundance and their farming is increasing in the form of business infrastructure also. Grains in rich minerals, vitamins are much in demand in terms of health consciousness awareness in humans. Also its increased cultivation will help to maintain more cattles as well as livestock and bird feed. All in one to be said that millets are at present increasing in many parts of the world and their benefits and easy growing methods are approving by almost all farmers. With other grains, millets in food consumption are expanding extensively. Their prons are so much that every age of generation is accepting them wisely formulating their healthy diet for happy and more better long life. As it is said that health is wealth, millets are the source of good and healthy life for a long period. Millets must be a part of daily food for they are easily and timely digestive letting body receive accurate energy for day to day stressful and hectic life.
